2017 Thames Bridges Bike Ride · 1 October 2017 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in February 2017 on an early Sunday morning I was laying in bed thinking about getting up when all of a sudden the room started to spin so severely that it made me feel like I was sea sick. After several tests they finally found out that I'd suffered a stroke of the cerebellar which effected my balance.

Several months on and I am recovering from the stroke quiet well. Although I do consider myself to be extremely lucky in that it only really effected my balance. I didn't loose the use of one side of my body or speech etc. Getting on a bike was a daunting thought.

Now I feel confident enough to tackle the 35 mile London Bridges Ride and thought I would take this opportunity to help out the Stroke Association who do amazing work for those that are effected by stroke.
