Brave a Skydive · 23 September 2017
We braved a 10 000ft skydive on Sat 23rd Sept 2017 for our incredible son Kai.
The donations that are raised will be given to The Childrens Trust for children with brain injuries such as KAI.
Last year a road traffic accident left Kai with a serious brain injury. He was two years old. After some time spent in hospital, we came to stay at The Children’s Trust, where Kai spent eight months receiving therapy and rehabilitation to help him recover from this brain injury, re-learning how to move and communicate.
The Children’s Trust supports thousands of children and teenagers like Kai every year who have been left with a brain injury after a serious accident or illness. The effects of a brain injury are wide-ranging, from affecting the ability to walk and talk to affecting memory, concentration and behaviour.
The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. Its national specialist centre is the largest service of its kind for residential paediatric brain injury rehabilitation in the country. The charity also runs a community team who support children in their own homes nationwide and specialists based in children’s hospitals across the UK. Services including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and play and music therapy help children recover some of the motor and cognitive skills lost as a result of their brain injury.
