Help save lives.

Be the difference.

We share the vision of St John Ambulance - we believe that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. Nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly. Yet every year, too many people die in situations where first aid could have given them the chance to live.

On 30th June and through the night to the next day, our team of staff and students from Ashford’s Norton Knatchbull School will be attempting the National Three Peaks Challenge (scaling the highest mountain in each of England, Wales and Scotland) to raise money for St John Ambulance (SJA), the nation’s leading first aid charity.

Every year, thousands of people die in situations where first aid could have given them a chance to live. Inspired by SJA’s vision of building a nation of life savers, we will complete the challenge in 24 hours including travel between the peaks – the day after some of our last A-Level exams! We successfully completed our Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions in the Lake District last year, so this was the perfect opportunity to re-form the team for a really good cause!

Our team consists of Tom Ball, James Chapell, Frankie Homewood, Albert Ward, John West and Jamie White in year 13; Alex Petttit, Cameron Shepherd and Richard Williams in year 12 and staff members Mr Maytum, Mr Hoyte and Mr Whybrew

St John Ambulance is a national charity and relies on donations to teach life-saving skills, deliver first aid and campaign to raise awareness of the importance of first aid. To give you an idea of where your money might go:

£60 could pay for a fully stocked kit for a St John Ambulance first aider

£200 could provide over 3,000 people with a free pocket first aid guide

£120 could pay for a St John Ambulance trainer to teach first aid to a class of 32 children

£80 could cover the operational costs of a first aid response unit for one hour.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster.

Thank you.
