Story

Earlier this year we were hit with the dreadful news that our good friend and colleague Martin McBride had passed away.

Martin was just 40 years old and had sadly succumbed to brain tumours.   He was the most generous and caring person we have all had the pleasure to know and his laid back attitude and calming manner was a positive influence on everyone that knew him.  We are all the better for having known him and even after his passing he continues to be inspirational.

In September some of our braver (dafter) and considerably lighter colleagues from East Midlands Trains undertook a skydive in his honour and in doing so raised a fantastic £3500 for The Brain tumour charity. (read more here  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/outofcontrolskydive)

Some of us hairier and heavier fellas want to continue supporting the cause and have committed to shed our most loved features for the same charity.

IF we reach our target by Sunday 18th November 2018 (the day John moves on to pastures new) then SIMON KILBY, ROSS MILNE & JOHN PATEMAN will be losing our beloved and well known beards!!

In addition, the man famed across the railway for his long perfectly groomed pony tail TONY MARSDEN aka SWISH has agreed to lose his hair!!  SIMON will also be supporting TONY in this by losing his lengthy 70's prog rock style locks.

You all know how much we love our face and head fur so your support for our cause really does mean a great deal to us, so THANK YOU!

John, Simon, Ross and Tony
