St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people with a progressive illness. Our work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12.9m, of this 70% comes from the local community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2016 my Mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer- she was given a matter of months to live. The hospice staff did more than just a job, they created a safe space where Mum was at peace with her condition and made sure she was comfortable. Our nurse was as honest and detailed as I needed her to be and as kind others needed them to be.

What is so amazing is that, to this day, offer bereavement support if I ever need it  coming up to an event- like a birthday. Their work is crucial in allowing someone to, not only die, but live with dignity.

My Mum always gave to charity, whether is it was the RSPCA, Mind, age UK, BHF and until this year, I was in a very dark place in coming to terms with what happened. I feel like I am able to start living my life again and, because we never know what is going to happen, I want to use this year to raise money for the Hospice to honour her memory.
