The Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust · 28 June 2013

Kirsten died from cancer just after her 25th birthday. The trust was set up by family and friends to support projects from young people under 26 who want to take part in the kind of projects for personal development, volunteering and charity work in the UK and abroad, which brought her such joy.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Thursday 27th June, I set off on a journey to Split in Croatia. I have decided to hitch hike rather than fly, as I simply fancied the adventure.

I am also fundraising for The Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust, who provide grants to young people in order for them to fulfill ambitions and make a positive contribution, either at home or overseas. This is a fantastic cause that allows beneficiaries to enjoy rich new experiences which would otherwise not be accessible to them. I am lucky enough to be making this journey from my own initiative and without any financial support, but many others are not in this position and this is precisely the point; please make a donation to allow young people to seize the day, experience adventure and better the world at the same time.

My journey will be made alone and should take approximately 7 days; I will be catching rides with drivers and camping when not on the road; this will all be done without the use of car sharing networks or youth hostel accomodation; I have adequate equipment and will also be in daily communication with my family to assure them of my safety.

100% of donations will go to the The Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust. Further information about Kirsten and her charity can be found at http://www.kirstenscottmemorialtrust.com
