NobleProg (UK) Ltd and NobleProg (NL) BV are delighted to be supporting Edukid as our company charity for 2020.

Their aim is pretty simple:

To provide primary, secondary and vocational training, university scholarships, and schools packs for children affected by war and poverty. 

In particular encompassing the following groups:

- Former abductees (child soldiers);

- Orphans and child led families;

- Those with disability or illness;

- Those unable to support themselves or their families as a result of war.

The Project:

Education is incredibly powerful and empowering. We are proud to support Edukid's work and in particular a project to supply power to Koch Goma Primary School in northern Uganda. Our target of £2,500 is the remaining sum needed to install solar panels to provide power to the classrooms. With power the opportunities for greater learning are increased significantly and it will be the springboard to many other projects.

What are we doing?

Our team of (based in the UK, Ireland and Nederlands) will attempt to walk the distance (collectively) from Bude, England (from where NP UK commenced operations in 2011) to Koch Goma Primary School's playground. It is about 3,498 miles (as the crow flies). We will then walk back, at total of 6,996 miles!

The Journey:
We are going to 'set off' from Bude on Monday 16 March 2020. 
After a long journey across France, a bit of a swim across the Mediterranean, into Libya, Sudan and South Sudan we will arrive in Koch Goma's playground in early summer 2020. 
Then we will wave goodbye to Uganda and set off home - planning to arrive before the end of 2020!

This is a real challenge to maintain the average across that length of time (and as an update it has been particularly challenging during lockdown and the restrictions of Covid 19!!) and will certainly require an adjustment to any sedentary lifestyle! We are a diverse team and it will require a team effort if we are to achieve the goal. Please help us raise money for this fantastic charity and this great cause, bringing education and opportunity to children who may not have believed it possible.
