BOOTY POWER FOR SUE RYDER

BOOTY POWER FOR SUE RYDER · 6 April 2022
Hi, my name is Noel and I’m organising a fitness event to raise money for Sue Ryder. I thought for a long time about what I could do as an event, then realised the best way for me to help was to do something that I'm good at and that I love...
So, I'm going from teaching fitness classes to women across Peterborough that help them to feel more confident in themselves and love their bodies; to teaching an extra special fitness class that will help Sue Ryder to pass on the kindness, love, energy and compassion they showed to my Grandma to 30 lucky women!
The "Booty Power" event is a unique cardio and a fun workout that aims at shaping your glutes and giving you the added benefit of improving your fitness and stamina at the same time.
It will be held on Wednesday 20th of April at 7pm, at Bar 42 in Peterborough and it's going to have a real party vibe - positive vibes only people! I’m really looking forward to raising money for Sue Ryder in memory of my Grandma and can't wait to share her energy with you all through Booty Power!
I chose Sue Ryder because of how incredible this charity was in supporting my grandma through the most difficult time of her life.
My grandma Adwoatawiah was born and raised in Ghana. Adwoatawiah was a loving wife and mother of 8. She was kind, caring and hardworking. She came to England to visit as with her age and diabetes we weren’t sure how long we had before she moved to America again.
Unfortunately, her health declined very fast and that’s when I heard of Sue Ryder for the first time. I was worried she would be placed in a hospice that was a gloomy sad place, but instead what I saw was doctors, nurses and people with smiles, compassion and with their beautiful garden and calm surroundings.
During this time I had the opportunity to get to know Grandma Adwoatawiah even more and spend a lot more time with her, listening to her stories about Ghana and ultimately learning more about my heritage
My Grandmother passed away on 8th June 2016 Surrounded by loving and caring staff.
So if you can make it, please donate and bring your positive energy! If you can't make it, then a donation will still be very much appreciated (suggested donation £3). We never know if it might be us or one of our loved ones who will be needing the wonderful care of the staff at the Sue Ryder Hospice in the future.
In memory of my beautiful grandma Adwoatawiah Oppong
