Trek26 Peak District - 26 miles · 13 August 2022 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Noels - bookworm and hiking pal Anisa - are tackling dementia, one mile at a time. Anisa inspired me to pursue my love of the outdoors through hiking, and as a refresher we climbed Mam Tor and it has been onwards and upwards from there. With a personal connection to the devastating effects dementia has had on my family I am doing this walk in their honour. 2022 brings my first challenge - Trek26 Peak District in August!

Anisa knows how I love those hills lol but hey bring it on! Both book-lovers and people who have been touched by dementia, we walk in memory of those lost, in support of those who suffer, and in defence of future generations.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
