We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Nomads Academy 28 Mile Challenge For Mind

Over February all of our players at Connah's Quay Nomads Football Club will be taking part in a fundraising event for Mind aiming to walk or run one mile a day.

Over the 28 days of February all our players from U8’s to U19s have been challenged with completing at least one mile outside a day of walking or running over the month.

Players are encouraged to do with parents or family members and hopefully this will give all involved a clear focus to get outside and keep active on top of our online program across February of sessions.

All players are asked to record each day on strava app and post it directly on your teams what’s app group for all Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to record.

For every player who completes one mile a day after 28 days the club will be donating £5 per player to mind Charity on top of what has been raised last month on behalf of the football club.

This just giving page allows for all to donate towards this month’s challenge which will hopefully bring in more to help the charity.

We hope everyone really gets behind this including all family members. Please take photos of your activities and promote the Charity mind and the 28 day challenge as much as you can on social media outlets making sure you tag Mind Charity and CQ Nomads.

One of the key parts of this challenge is to get all our players outside, maintaining their own physical and mental health and well-being. Just some of the benefits of getting outside walking and running include:

improve your mood

reduce feelings of stress and anger

help you take time out and feel more relaxed

Improve your physical health

improve your confidence and self-esteem

Help you to be more active

help you make new connections

Provide peer support

We have no doubt together we can raise even further funding for the charity Mind along with keeping all our young players physically and mentally active and well over what we hope will be the last lockdown period before we may return in March.
