Thank you for your interest in my project!

My name is Nora Betts. I have been a Girl Scout since 1st grade and have lived in Scranton, PA for just as long. Now a senior in high school, I am working to earn my Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve. 

For my Gold Award Project, I will be building and installing 4 bat boxes on homes in NEPA with threatened and unwanted bats. Bat boxes offer safe homes to these animals while allowing them to continue benefitting the environment. In addition, I will install an educational sign on the Lackawanna Heritage Trail to inform passersby on the importance of bats and bat boxes. 

But wait, there's more! In addition to the physical aspect of my project in the form of the bat boxes and signage, I am utilizing Instagram as an effective and entertaining educational resource. I will be posting live updates on my project as well as facts and information on bats and bat boxes. This account- @norabetts.batbox -will live on as an educational tool even after my project is complete.
