When I was 50 I cycled London to Paris in aid of the Royal British Legion and enjoyed it so much I decided I wanted to complete other challenges. Four years ago I cycled Land’s End to John O’Groats, also for Alzheimer’s Research, and now I have hit another milestone birthday I have decided to go back to my roots in Ireland and cycle all the way around it. I will be cycling around 50 miles a day and have roughly a day a week off, in all I will be cycling for 9 weeks. As it is quite a big challenge I will raising money for a charity that is dear to me because I watched my Mother struggle with the Alzheimer’s for many years, lovingly cared for by my Dad. I will also be raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
