Story
In memory of my Mum and Dad - I miss you both every day.
Losing a loved one is always heartbreaking - I lost both of my parents to cancer, albeit different forms of cancer and in different ways. My Father lived six years after his diagnosis, undergoing several operations and various treatments but he lost his battle in 1996. Sadly, my Mother was diagnosed too late to benefit from treatment and died within one week of diagnosis in 2010.
In 1970, the 10 year survival rate was 24%, in 2010, the survival rate reached 50%, Cancer Research UK aims for the survival rate to reach 75% by 2030. One day, they will find a cure for all cancers, and with your help, that day comes closer.
Your contribution will help Cancer Research UK in their goals towards:
Prevention, earlier diagnosis, development of new treatments and optimising existing treatments by making them more effective for each individual.
Please join me in my journey ... I shall do my best to walk the coastal path around the Isle of Wight on 2nd May. I hope you will see your way to make a small donation on my page. Every little helps in the battle to BEAT CANCER. One day, their research may help to save someone you love.
