Story
As many people now know, my Dad sadly passed away on Friday 31st January.
Unbeknown to us all, Norman had cancer and became ill shortly before Christmas as a result of the late onset of symptoms for stomach cancer.
We know all too painfully that finding ways to diagnose these cancers earlier and funding research is crucial, which is why we have chosen as a family to support Guts UK.
Guts UK is working alongside five other national charities, to form the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce, with the aim of doubling the survivability of these cancers by 2029.
Norman was so very special. A father, husband, stepfather and grandfather. A dedicated member of Amber Valley Borough Council for over 28 years. A dear friend to many. Norman is missed each and every day.
For those of you who have kindly offered support since Norman’s passing, please consider making a donation to Guts UK to help fund their valuable work.
The White Hart, Bargate (Norman’s second home) is holding a collection, should you wish to donate in person.
In the coming months, I will be making a more active contribution to the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce. I’ll endeavour to share more details of fund raising events and awareness activities as and when they arise through my Just Giving profile.
