The North Wake College and Career Academy Black Student Union Griffins are back for our 2nd year in the Students Against Hunger Competition for the Food Bank of NC. Last year North Wake Academy provided 671 meals and our Virtual Food Drive raised $100 and we  collected over 200lbs of food!  We are excited to continue the mission of supporting those in need and providing meals to people in the community.  Nearly 300,000 children and teens (under age 18) in the Food Banks 34-county service area may not know where their next meal is coming from. Many of these children are not receiving regular meals at home in the evenings, over the weekend, or on school breaks.No child should have to worry when he or she will eat again, and no parent should have to skip a meal, water down drinks or risk not paying a bill so they can put food on the table for their children. Since its inception, Students Against Hunger has provided hundreds of thousands of meals to families with the support of local schools.
