Story
Firstly, thank you very much for taking the time to visit my page.
On April 23rd I will be running the London Marathon in order to raise money for the North Berwick Youth Project. Running a marathon is a far cry from anything I have done before and I am out training three times a week in order to make it over the finish line on the day.
The Youth Project helps support vulnerable teenagers in the town where I grew up and it is a charity that is close to my heart. Their work is run entirely off the back of fundraising so anything you can pledge truly will make a difference.
Here is a bit more information about the type projects you will be supporting.
The Youth Project is the major provider of youth work services in North Berwick. There is a significant minority of young people who are vulnerable or disadvantaged or disengaged from school and they are doubly disadvantaged in an affluent town.
Its vision is to work with young people to create an environment where they are given responsibility and the opportunity to make positive changes in their lives and their communities. The project runs Drop-ins, a Disability Group, a Girls Group, a cookery group, a summer café in the local park, residentials (including a trip to Rwanda in 2017) and works in partnership with North Berwick High School. It also delivers employability and mental health support.
