Story
Ks for Carers is a week-long event, organised by Carers Queensland, to raise awareness and vital funds to support our state’s 484,000 unpaid family carers.
Our Team in Townsville works with Carers and their families everyday and are constantly in awe of the work they do in sometimes very challenging and complex circumstances.
Carers are everyday people like you and me.
A Carer may be a parent caring for young or teenage child with a disability like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, intellectual impairment, down syndrome.
Carers may be older parents whose grown children need constant care and support.
A Carer could be a husband or wife caring for their partner who may have a disability like MS, a chronic or Mental Health illness.
Young Carers are children/teenagers caring for a parent or family member who may have a chronic illness, disability or is frail age
We will finish the week with a group 5K walk on Friday 17 June at Riverway.
