Zip Slide for Action on Elder Abuse · 1 November 2015

We are Hourglass - formerly Action on Elder Abuse - the voice for older people at risk. We provide a Helpline and programmes to deliver direct support to victims and survivors of abuse. We campaign to stop harm of older people and to create an environment where safer ageing is guaranteed for all.

Story

During SAFE Week (Safeguarding Adults for Everyone) in November some of the bravest and most fearless employees of the North Tyneside, Northumberland and Newcastle councils and partner agencies will be doing a Zip Slide off the iconic Tyne Bridge in Newcastle.

The zip slide starts from the Newcastle side 30 metres above the River and travels diagonally across the River Tyne for 230m before finishing at HMS Calliope on the Gateshead side. The event takes place on Sunday 1st November 2015.

We will be raising funds for Action on Elder Abuse, in order to highlight the issue and support their work with elderly victims of abuse and those at risk.

Please give if you can to support the cause and our hair-raising challenge!
