No-shoes November · 1 November 2013

Stand by Me (previously Kids Alive) is caring for over 3000 children in some of the world’s poorest countries. Through our children’s homes, schools and care centres we transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children, by providing them with care that meets their individual needs.

Story

The awkward moment when...Sophie forgets her shoes.

So I’m taking on the crazy challenge of No-shoes November to raise awareness and money for Stand By Me!

It hurts, but it's going to be SO awesome and SO worth it!

I have volunteered with Stand By Me twice, and having seen the work they do, there is no charity I would rather take my shoes off for.

They are currently caring for over 3,000 of the world's poorest children that they have rescued – that’s a LOT of children.

Opening their own schools and childrens' homes, they accept all children as equal and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to break the cycle of poverty.

That is just the BEST – not easing it: breaking the cycle!

And you can be involved by sponsoring me to go barefoot for the whole of November - brrrrrr, chilly!

I'm going to be doing all the stuff I usually do (walking to lectures, cycling to town, being late for stuff), just without shoes!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for caring enough to at least have read this.
