NPH supports the creation of a loving and safe family environment for vulnerable children living in Latin America and Haiti. Through comprehensive education, healthcare, nutrition and emotional support, children are empowered to develop their unique potential and break the cycle of poverty.

Story

This year we’re embarking on the journey of a lifetime in a 1989 Chevrolet Sprint. Driving from Bogota, Colombia to Ushuaia, the most southern point of Argentina. We have chosen a route via Southern Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile before reaching our final destination, Argentina. We’ll be travelling over 10,000 kilometers and through 6 counties in a car that is 10 years older than us and only has a 1L engine!

By way of introduction, we are Darcey, Edward and Jeremy, three recent graduates from Edinburgh University and Oxford Brookes University. We have been based in Bogota for the last 3 weeks, really testing our Spanish amidst purchasing our trusty 1989 Chevrolet Sprint and the rest of our gear.

We are now looking for donations for  for our chosen charity; NPH UK. NPH cares for poor and vulnerable children across Latin America and the Caribbean. They provide a loving, secure environment for thousands of children, plus education and family support services for thousands more. We will be visiting NPH in Peru and Bolivia to see their incredible impacts on the ground.
