Hello,
I've signed up for a 110 (It's now been extended to 114) mile trail race... It starts on September
24th at 7pm in Helmsley and finishes some time later in Filey having encircled the North York Moors, Cleveland Hills and Cleveland Heritage coastline, visiting Sutton Bank, Osmotherley, Captain Cooks Monument, Roseberry Topping, Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough on the way. I'll have to carry the majority of my kit,
clothing, maps, torches, food etc,
on my back and i'll be running for over 24 hours, 10 of which (at
least) will be in the dark, over some dramatic but extremely tough
terrain. The course record is 21 hours. I'll be very happy just to
complete this event but would be delighted with anything under 30 hours.
Read all about it here:
Hardmoors
110.
I'm running on behalf of
Médecins Sans
Frontières
(MSF). They are an international humanitarian aid
organisation who provide emergency medical assistance to populations
in danger in more than 60 countries.
They provide essential healthcare during and after conflict, treat
people affected by epidemic diseases, help people in the aftermath of
natural disasters and offer medical care to those excluded from
healthcare.
It's a really good cause and a bit of a challenge so if you or anyone you know
can spare a few quid, i'll
really appreciate it. Please feel free to forward this to friends and family.
Cheers,
Henry
