Story
A team of us were hoping to run the Manchester Marathon this year, but Coronavirus made that imposssible.
However, Coronavirus has hit some of the world's poorest communities even harder. And the work we were planning to support with teenage mums in a rural area of Uganda needs to go on, despite the pandemic.
So, we are runnning/walking in the NOT THE MANCHESTER MARATHON on the weekend of 17th and 18th October. A team of us will be running or walking 10km at some point over the weekend, in our own local areas and staying safe and socially distanced - of course.
There will ALSO be an optional 1km challenge for families – run, skip, hop or however else you’d like to cover 1km and be sponsored as a family to have some fun!
Will you sponsor us to help raise vital funds for All We Can's work supporting teenage mums in Uganda to start their own businesses?
Totally Runable's Director, Natalie Jackson, spoke to Sarah, who runs COFCAWE - the organisation All We Can partners with in Uganda, via Skype. She was inspired by that conversation to want to make a difference - and after Coronavirus meant we weren't able to enter a team in the Manchester Marathon 2020, NOT THE MANCHESTER MARATHON was born...
