Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Four members of staff from Notts County will be taking part in the Lincoln 10K Road Race this weekend, to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, and they’re calling on our supporters to back them.

CEO Jim Rodwell, Goalkeeping Coach Kevin Pilkington, Strength & Conditioning Coach Lee Taylor and Head of Sports Medicine John Wilson will all be taking part in the gruelling 10km run through the streets of Lincoln on Sunday.

Rodwell said of the event: “I know all too well how difficult a challenge this is, having completed the race last year, and I’ve not agreed to enter again lightly, I can assure you, but this is for a great cause and it’s fantastic that Notts County Football Club will be so well represented at the event.

“Some supporters may welcome the fact that I’ll be putting myself through this and, to be fair, it may just finish me off, so you could say there’s an incentive in itself for them to donate!”

Kevin Pilkington has asked fans to give whatever they can for this very worthwhile cause, adding: “If supporters can donate just £1 each, that would give us a great total to contribute to Prostate Cancer UK and every penny helps, so I would ask everyone to give whatever they can.”
