Story

Notts Sport has chosen to support Motor Neurone Disease Association in an upcoming charity match being played at the Stoneycroft Sports and Social Club. The date for the event is the 31st May 2015 with kick off at 12 noon. Food and drink will be available throughout the day admission is £1 on the day and all entrance money will be split between Motor Neurone Disease and Myeloma UK.

Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive neurodegerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of the muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.

MND can affect any adult at any age but most people are diagnosed with the disease over the age of 40, men are affected twice as often as women, life expectancy after being diagnosed is just 2 to 5 years.

By raising money for MND will help by making peoples life's much easier to deal with, there are aids to help communicate, to help get in out of the car, to help walk and to get much needed care, along with the research and testing that will hopefully find a cure for this awful disease.
