Moosh was brought to us by an Afghan lady who was in a car that unfortunately struck the little pup on the streets of Kabul.
She made the driver stop, scooped Moosh up and thankfully knew exactly where to bring him.
We checked him over and apart from being in shock the pup was thankfully ok.
Whilst he was in our quarantine room he was such a quiet little thing that curled himself up in the corner of the room, so we decided the name Moosh (Dari for Mouse) was perfect for this sweet pup.

Now Moosh has found a loving home in the UK! 
Here his new family explain why it is so important to them to get him home:

We both fell in love with Moosh as soon as we saw his picture and heard his story.
 We are therefore extremely grateful that we have been approved to become Moosh’s guardians and that we will now have the opportunity to give him a forever home here in the UK, where he will become a much loved brother to our 7 year old collie-x rescue, Billy.

It is undoubtedly a big decision to adopt a dog from so far away when there are so many in need of rescuing in centres here in the UK and in wider Europe. However, through Ethaar’s own personal experience of knowing what it means to start a new life after leaving a war-torn troubled country, combined with her firm conviction that ALL sentient life matters, along with John’s connections from serving in Afghanistan and being saddened by the continuing troubles there, but inspired by the compassion and good that the Nowzad team are doing both for animal welfare and local opportunities, this feels like the right thing to do for both of us at this point in time.

Adopting one dog isn’t much but for Moosh at least we hope it will make a positive difference!
 We are very much looking forward to becoming part of the amazing Nowzad family and would like to say a BIG thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help us make this opportunity become a reality.

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of the Nowzad charity, the funds collected via this Justgiving page will be allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad animal clinic and shelter and sanctuary in Kabul.

The total required for a companion animal to travel to UK is on average £4000 for a dog and £2500 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
