RFUIPF Veteran's Rugby Day · 9 June 2018
My Vets team the Wimbledon Strollers” are honoured and proud to be invited to take part in the RFUIPF, on the 9th June at Twickenham!
This event is particularly close to all of our hearts at Wimbledon, as one of our players, Jack Fishwick was involved in a tragic accident whilst playing, which left him with little feeling or useful function from the shoulders downwards.
As a club we have held our own fundraising efforts for Jack including the, now famous Jack Fishwick 7s tournament.
Having now gone through a period of rehabilitation and sourced and adapted a flat to allow him as much independence as possible Jack has asked that funds raised at the 7s competition go to the IPF alone.
This is due to the high level of support Jack received form the IPF and his knowledge that many injured players do not get the level of support afforded to him and rely solely on the IPF.
We together with Hammersmith & Fulham RFC, Wimbledon RFC and Silhilians RUFC, have set ourselves a massive target of £40,000, so please can you help me support the RFUIPF by sponsoring me in this match.
This event gives us a splendid opportunity to help support a charity dedicated to supporting and protecting the rugby family.
If you would like to see more of what the RFUIPF does to help the injured players and their families adapt and recover from critical injuries and importantly to me, the preventive research they do, to stop tragic injuries happening like this again, please log on to http://www.rfuipf.org.uk
