Story

We are back after a couple of years off; taking on the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge once again... with a slightly different team of ‘’Fore’ golfing superheroes. We’ve offloaded Goatboy, and combined the Nunn and Marshall brothers to create what some would call a dream 4-ball!

The aim is to squeeze in 4 rounds of golf (or 72 holes) back-to-back during the hours of daylight... Last time out we started at around 4:30 am, and finally trudged off the 18th at 9:00pm!

It’s estimated that a good golfer would hit 300 shots and walk 20 miles to complete this challenge... however good golfers hit most of their shots straight, so for us it’s likely to be much tougher (especially Yogi).

We are hugely grateful to Stowmarket Golf Club for accommodating us at a massively reduced rate for the day on Monday 29th July.

Clearly we will be paying out green fess and all of our other expenses out of our own pockets, so every penny donated and Gift-Aided goes to this worthy cause. Experience tells that we will get through a lot of consumables; food, drink, underwear, golf balls, Vaseline, shoes, sun cream etc.

This is a shared page for all 4 team members; Lawrie, Carl, Wayne and Jamie. Please help us in doing our bit for a cause that is close to all our hearts... and remember to Gift-Aid if you can!

Yours in sport
Jamie, Lawrie, Carl and Wayne
