The Welsh 3000s Challenge · 15 June 2019

Supporting the education of Foundationers at Lord Wandsworth College.

Story

For the sheer challenge and fun of it we've decided to try and surmount all 15 of the mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the period of 24 hours, without using any form of transport - i.e. the "Welsh 3000s Challenge". We will likely cover about 30 miles in total, climb a total of over 4000 metres, and pick up a total of 11,000 middle-aged aches and pains along the way.

Given this is not your every day challenge, we figured we'd add to our motivation by raising some cash for something worthwhile - the foundation for our alma mater, Lord Wandsworth College. The LWC Foundation helps around 50 children, many of who have been bereaved of one or both parents or those who have lost their support through other circumstances, to benefit from the support and structure of LWC.

We're all Old Sternians (years 1995 and 1996) and some of us benefited from the Foundation during our time at the school. We look back on our school days at LWC with a lot of fondness, and will be proud to raise some funds for the benefit of future pupils. We hope you'll support us by giving generously. In return we'll post a few photos along the way...

Many thank in advance,
Ben, Jim, Tim and John
