Thanks for visiting my just giving page.
I've set this page up as I'm going to Uganda in the summer with a team from my church. We will be working with an organisation called Watoto. Whilst we are there, we'll be building a house for orphaned children in Gulu, which is a war-torn area in northern Uganda. Building this house will mean that children who have been orphaned by the HIV/Aids epidemic and civil war will now be brought up in safety.
The trip is 16 days long and will involve us spending a week building a house up in Gulu. After this we will spend time in Watoto's baby unit back in Kampala and have time to hang out with some of the other children - putting on some craft activities and playing games.
While I am there I will have the opportunity to go on Safari for 2 days - The £1500 that I am trying to raise, does not include the cost of this as I will be paying for this myself.
To raise money, I will be doing a 10km run. If you know me even vaguely, you're probably well aware of this being completely crazy, given my aversion to exercise. However, I'm willing to go a bit crazy and attempt to get fit in order to raise money for the trip! I also have some very lovely friends who will be running this with me, helping me to raise the £1500 - thank you Eleanor and James!
Over the coming months we'll be putting on other fundraising activities as a team, which I will keep you posted on.
If you feel able to sponsor me, I'd really appreciate it.
**Update**
I have now exceeded my personal target of £1500, but am continuing to raise money that will be used to fund the actual building project and support other team members in their personal fundraising.
Thank you sooooo much!
Love Nadine x
