In September 2009, my grandad found out that he had cancer. He became very ill within a number of weeks and it soon became impossible for him to stay in his own home without 24 hour care. He was given a place in Dove House Hospice, where they looked after him impecably until he passed away a few days later.

Nick is running the 2010 Hull 10K and we have decided to try and raise some money to help Dove House care for many more people in the future. Dove House Hospice has a yearly running cost of £5 million and is funded for the equivalent of just 91 days per year. They are a charity which provides excellent care for people in the local community with life limiting illnesses, for whom quality of life is very important.
