Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Eddystone rock is a lighthouse 13 miles off Plymouth.  A pursuit race is designed so that the slower boats start early and the fastest boat starts last in order that in a perfect world where all the boats sailed well in ideal wind conditions they would all finish at the same time.  Of course this never happens but each yacht will receive a score based on its position in the race.  The Eddystone Charity Pursuit is a sailing race where boats score points to win part of the prize fund for their charities   https://www.eddystonepursuit.com/about-the-eddystone-pursuit .  Part of the competition encourages early entry (already done) and points are awarded for the amount of money raised by each boat for its nominated charity.  Thus it is extremely important to raise lots of money for the charity  and sail well to win even more for the charity!

This is the first year that John (Brag ) will be doing the event and its given the team the opportunity to compete for three boat team event and hopefully more prize money for the charity.

The O & G team are raising funds to purchase training equipment for the midwives and doctors to use.  Coinciding with the launch of our new guidelines for breech birth we wish to purchase a complex simulator for breech delivery training which will empower our staff to support women better who chose to deliver a breech baby.  If we raise enough funds we would also like to provide a laparoscopy trainer for the skills lab such that trainees can practice their skills in the delartment
