Story
The founders of Gandys, Rob and Paul, had a unique education travelling the world with their parents volunteering to help less privileged children from the ages of 13 and 11.
Tragically they were orphaned themselves at the ages of 15 and 17 in the 2001 Boxing day Tsunami. Their journey back to the UK involved hitch hiking with their youngest siblings aged 8 and 11 with the help and support from the local people in Sri Lanka. The brothers, along with their siblings were lucky enough to come back to friends and family who could ensure their safety.
As part of rebuilding their lives the brothers wanted to create something positive from their experience and give back to others in need. They created Gandys and came up with the initiative ‘Orphans for Orphans’ to help less fortunate children.
The Gandys brothers and their story has truly inspired us, and so, in true Oasis style we want to support The Gandys Foundation – Orphans for Orphans by raising as much money as possible!
Over the next 6 weeks you will have the opportunity to work with your areas to get involved in a number of different events, all in aid of fundraising for this fantastic cause. Whether your involvement is buying raffle tickets and attending quiz nights, or by climbing mountains and jumping out of planes, we know that with your help we can make this our greatest fundraising push yet!
