We are two novice runners (who caught the running bug over the pandemic) and one seasoned runner, aiming to complete a half marathon on 2nd October. 

We will be raising funds for Whoosh! Stephen Hawking School Trust. The Trust supports children from birth to age 11 in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets with severe, profound and/or multiple learning difficulties. Extra curricular activities for these children are non-existent outside of school hours. The money raised by the Trust helps support the pupils' extra-curricular activities and fund the school's afternoon club, holiday schemes and other school projects. The Trust most recently funded a new playground at school. Due to the pandemic, the fund has not been able to organise any corporate events, which in the past has been their primary source of fundraising.

Gaurav's Personal Connection with Whoosh!:

As a parent to a child that attends Stephen Hawking, I understand the important role Whoosh! plays in funding activities that would otherwise not be available to pupils at this school. This has been even more apparent since the beginning of the pandemic. Children with special needs have suffered tremendously. With after school clubs and weekend and summer programmes cancelled, these children did not have any activities to attend. And remote learning did not always work for all children. At present the school is unable to offer any form of clubs/activities outside school hours due to inadequate funding and is looking at Whoosh! to support them. I joined Whoosh! as a Trustee last year recognising the value they add and also the support they need to help raise funds so they can continue to make a difference to the children's mental wellbeing and development.

I am really happy to have two very close friends join me for this challenge.
