Thank you for supporting Ocean Breeze's 2003 Fastnet campaign in support of Sail 4 Cancer.
The infamous Fastnet Race is a 607 mile offshore sailing event, attracting names such as Ellen MacArthur, Dean Barker and Nick Moloney. Starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, on the last Sunday of Cowes Week, a 300 strong fleet heads off down the English Channel and across the Irish Sea, bound for the infamous Fastnet Rock.
After rounding the "Rock", the course takes you past the Scilly Isles and up the Channel to Plymouth. The race typically takes four to five days depending on the weather conditions. This can range from demanding light airs to full-blown gales with large Atlantic swells. Whatever the weather, each day will deliver intensive non-stop racing, requiring determination, seamanship, and teamwork.
Sponsoring our team online is the most efficient way for us to raise funds for Sail 4 Cancer. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you.
