The Pilgrimage of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa from Vladivostok to Fatima in defence of life and the family

Towards the  new Evangelisation and the Civilisation of Love and Life, Marriage and the Family

The National Association of Catholic Families (NACF) is one of the founding members of the international Committee of the Pilgrimage of the Black Madonna of Czestochowa, From Ocean to Ocean,  from the Pacific at Vladivostok to Fatima on the Atlantic.  NACF is also the lead organisation for the visit of the Icon to Britain in November.

The aim of this unique pilgrimage is best put in the first and last lines of the Prayer  of Entrustment.

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Chaste Mother of God, Immaculate Virgin.
Into your hands we entrust the great cause of protecting the civilisation of life and love.
Protect life! Save the family!  Strengthen us!
Obtain from yours on the victory of the civilisation of life and love!

After one thousand years of fratricidal distrust the Mother of God has now brought her Orthodox and Catholic sons and daughters together to help bring about the new Civilisation of Love based upon God's plan for marriage and the family in the Third Christian Millennium.

In the first 40
days of the pilgrimage our Orthodox brother accompanied the icon of the Mother of God across Russia and Kazakhstan taking in some 7,000 miles and 8 time zones. The icon then continued through Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia. Next the icon went to Poland where Our Lady has been welcomed by vast crowds throughout. In one Cathedral the 15,000 congregation was so large that it impeded the procession of the icon! There have been an unprecedented number of uncompromising pro-life / pro-family homilies given by Bishops.

From Ocean to Ocean will visit 23 countries covering some 10,000 miles (18,000 km). The England and Scotland parts of this epic pilgrimage is November 5 to November 16 and includes visits to Canterbury, Westminster, Walsingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Carfin and Glasgow.

You can read more about the pilgrimage online at the official website.

NACF is appealing for funds to cover expenses incurred for the England and Scotland parts (expenses ranging from transport to publicity costs). Please give generously.
