MAP in Lebanon - £100,000 additional funding needed
Since the conflict in Syria which erupted in 2011, Palestinian refugees have been fleeing with an estimated 50,000 now having arrived in Lebanon.
The already stretched and chronically underfunded services for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are at breaking point.
The problems have been made even worse because of the recent cut in US funding to UNRWA.
MAP needs an additional £100,000 to provide medical care for the influx of Palestinian refugees coming from Syria as well as for Palestinians refugees who have been in Lebanon for many decades.
During 2018, Orkney Friends of Palestine, supported by the Orkney Branch of Amnesty International, aim to raise £2,500 towards this total.
