Brendan died from cancer in May 2005 aged only 15 after battling the disease for 3 years.  Many of my ex-Army colleagues will know the Oakes family well.  Val and Mark set up the trust at Brendan's request to help other teenagers, in a similar situation to himself, experience adventurous and exciting activities, The charity is very small in comparison but gives a massive boost to youngsters and I want to help ensure that continues.

I successfully cycled the  57 miles on my trusty old treader (which is not a road bike!). It wasn't fast or pretty but I finished.
