Breakthrough Transformation Trust is a charity that is passionate about seeing young people, and their families, succeed. Breakthrough College is a DfE registered independent specialist post 16 college. We aim to improve the educational provision for students with SEN; empowering and equipping them to be the best that they can be. Our transformative work builds hope and gives the people we work with faith in the future. Breakthrough College aims to deliver the best possible service to our students, and our colleagues are a huge part of this. We are here to change lives for the better, and we therefore work unconditionally; always aiming to go the extra mile. Every young person is included in all aspects of college life. They are welcomed at the start of the day, experience 1:1 teaching from a therapeutic viewpoint, and eat their lunch as part of the community, if they feel able. Families and carers are also fully involved. At Breakthrough College we believe that every young person deserves a chance to succeed regardless of additional need and background.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are undertaking this challenge to support the fantastic work of Breakthrough Transformation Trust in supporting some of the most vulnerable children and their families, helping them to reintegrate into education and provide lasting support until they can return to full time learning.

Neil has been a core worker for the trust since September 2016 and has been working at a new provision for primary aged children. The site desperately needs some outdoor play equipment to encourage the children to develop skills helping with self esteem and self confidence. The area will also give parents the chance to develop positive relationships with their children through play.

Phil , Simon and Neil all attended Testwood Secondary school which is based near the New Forest. They have become keen cyclists over the last few years however only Phil has managed to complete 100 miles to date and will be leading the way. Just under 2 years ago Neil was taken seriously ill and cycling helped him to focus on getting back to normal. He has taken on this challenge hoping to prove he can push himself beyond previous cycling experiences.

Simon has also had to recover from a serious cycling accident and he has spent most of his time training indoors but is focused on getting back on the road to raise funds for this amazing charity.
