Stories about mental illness and how it has and is playing a role in my life and the lives of my family and friends, can become a bit exposing, so I won't go into details. But I know we live in a world full of challenges which can seriously harm our minds. When people's minds get ill - it is not the lack of will-power, desire or know-how which keep them down. The illness (I have been surrounded with) is the inability to see a way out. The inability to want to find the will-power, desire and knowledge to get well.

I have received help when needed in the past, but I know the reality is, that not everyone can access help easily. Anything to help people and families in this situation is a worth while cause!

I believe first and foremost that a life with God through Jesus is the ultimate path to peace and life. This is free and needs no donations!

I also believe that we can help each other, and that is a way we can make a difference right here and right now. It can be as simple as being a friend, a listener or a steady support of any kind. If we do this for others, we will make a massive difference!  

I also know that professional help is needed and helpful. Access to councilors, psychotherapists and psychiatrists requires resources. My passion in this particular fundraising event is to see more people who suffer being given help like this quickly. I'm proud to raise money for this cause.
