Story
My brother writes more eloquently than I could and for the full story check out his page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/adam-hola-peryer
However the abridged version is thus: I have an awesome brother and sister in law called Adam and Gemma. Together they have an incredibly lovely and sweet daughter named Elsie. Elsie has a condition known as OFD. This has required a huge amount of medical support and I know the whole family is supremely grateful to the NHS for their involvement. RMHC has been there every step of the way supporting Adam and Gemma with advice, accommodation during Elsie’s numerous hospital trips, and many other things.
Adam wanted to do something to show his appreciation for RMHC. He decided to run the London marathon to raise money. As is very on brand for him, he went belt and braces on the application process and ended up with a spot on the marathon and a virtual spot. Being the person most easily coerced by my brother, I agreed to take his virtual marathon spot and raise some additional funds for RMHC.
A point of note: the virtual marathon does not mean doing it on the Wii or on a treadmill. I will legit be running a marathon on the same day as the actual marathon. Just not in the same place. Or with the crowds. Or with the adoring public handed out sweets and drinks. So is it harder and thus more deserving of sponsorship? Is the word ‘hero’ applicable here? These questions are not for me to answer, but they are out in the public domain.
Anyway, in shameless fashion, I want your money, please give me your money. And gift aid it as well.
Thank you
