Story
I'm fundraising to support the DEC Afghanistan Crisis Appeal.
On a cold, drizzly February day I ran 50 km across Dartmoor on my first ultramarathon - the Dartmoor Winter Traverse.
On the 2nd of July I will run the famously hot and dry 50 km Serpent Trail across the South Downs Way.
I am fundraising to support ActionAid and other DEC member agencies on the ground, trying to reach the most vulnerable. More than 8 million people are on the brink of extreme hunger in Afghanistan. Severe drought, years of conflict, and the Covid-19 pandemic have caused a crisis. Please support my fundraiser to help reach those in urgent need in Afghanistan. With our support, we can help to provide food for children, supply emergency kits for families, and protect women and girls. Any donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
UPDATE:
With a heavy heart, due to illness I had to make the hard decision to cancel my 2022 Serpent Trail Race. It was not easy, after months of training and all your support here and offline. But don't worry - I will be running it in 2023!
MARCH 2023 UPDATE:
I am now back in training for the summer Serpent Trail ultramarathon. I am grateful for all your kind words and donations. We have sadly had many more humanitarian disasters since I set up this fundraiser, but the situation in Afghanistan is still dire and millions are still suffering. Hope you can help me support them!
