Story
On April 22nd my father and I will be running the London Marathon, and no this is not just the latest round of a competitive father/son rivalry, it is far more than that as we will be running for my little brother Oli.
Oli suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, which is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.
It is for this reason that we are running in aid of the CF Trust.
Oli is the most inspiring person I know, he battles everyday with a vigorous regime taking over 60 tablets, 4 nebulisers and having 2 rounds of physiotherapy along with various puffers, and this is just when he is well. Somehow around all this he has the time and dedication to follow his dream as an actor. Whilst he fights hard, it's scary knowing that even a simple cold can result in a hospital stay, in fact, he has recently come out of hospital after catching the flu.
Any money raised will go towards research, the development of new drugs, hospital and clinic support as well as support for families affected.
Now that the dreaded beast from the east has passed, our training will be full steam ahead for the big day. We will keep everyone updated with our progress and we hope to see as many of your there as possible to cheer us on and give us the extra spring in our step that we will definitely need.
All donations will mean the absolute world to us.
Thank you very much,
Richard and Ben
