Oliver Carr - London Marathon 2020

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
On 26th April 2020 I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of the National Brain Appeal (NBA). The National Brain Appeal (formerly known as The National Hospital Development Foundation) is the charity dedicated to raising vital funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.
1/6 people in the UK have a neurological disorder. The NBA team treat patients who are seriously affected by neurological disorders, from those suffering with Brain Tumours, to those who suffer with Serious Brain Injuries, Parkinsons, Epilepsy and Strokes.
My mother, who suffered a major stroke in July 2019, is currently an inpatient at the NHNN having been diagnosed with vasculitis in her brain which emerged from complications following her liver transplant in December 2018. Over the months since her stroke she has benefitted from the cutting edge work that takes place at the hospital. She will continue to do so for the coming months. The team at the NHNN are leading the way in finding new treatments and improving patient care and outcomes for the 14.7m people in the UK who are affected by a neurological or neuromuscular condition. Without the generosity of the public, they would not be able to carry out such amazing work.
My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity.
Please give what you can to this life changing charity. Thank you so much for your support!
