Birmingham to London Hike for Parkinsons UK · 28 August 2022

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I am raising money for Parkinson's UK by walking from Birmingham to London - something I have wanted to do for a long time!

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and worsens over time. Having seen both of my Grandad's suffer from the disease, I am keen to support the research into this cruel disease. There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s, but there are lots of different treatments and support available to help people manage the disease.

On the 28th of August I will set off from Gas Street Basin in Birmingham and begin my journey to London. I’m aiming to finish in 5 days, covering over 250km. This trek has been a great physical challenge for me to prepare for and I'm looking forward to taking in the sights between my two favourite places! I’ll be following a route along the Grand Union Canal and updating my progress on Just Giving.

All donations to this fundraiser will go to Parkinson’s UK and their vital research to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Any donations would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ollie
