Story

The rather sobering fact is that every 11 minutes someone is forced into homelessness, and so each day across all 32 London boroughs, SHP staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness. Causes include poor mental health or drug,  alcohol dependency, physical abuse and rising costs of living and rents.

With 40 years of expertise and a London-wide reach, SHP make a difference to more than 10,000 lives every year. Often that means being there for people at a critical time whether to prevent their eviction or help them off the street; to get them into drug or alcohol treatment or support them with their mental health; or to help them find a job and a flat so that they can take the final steps to living on their own. Perhaps most important of all though is their work restores hope to people who might otherwise feel forgotten, left behind or written off, providing crucial footholds in their recovery journey from which they can go on to build independent and fulfilling lives.

So this year I am running:-

- White Horse Half Marathon on April 10th (1hr 52mins)

- Bath Half Marathon on May 29th (now October 16th)

- Salisbury Plain Half Marathon (1,050ft. of hill climb) on June 11th (1hr 54mins)

- Man v Coast Adventure Race (over 3,000ft. of hill climb) on July 2nd (5hr 29mins)

- South West Coast 50 Challenge (1,900ft. of hill climb) on August 6th (4hr 52mins - winner)

- 100km South Coast Challenge (over 7,000ft. of hill climb) on September 3rd (13hrs 31mins)

- London Marathon on October 2nd (3hr 59mins)

That’s well over 180 race miles for charity so please support me in raising the necessary funds to help support those most vulnerable within our society.

Thank you.
