24/7 Advent Challenge · 1 December 2020 to 24 December 2020 ·

Caring for a child with disabilities is a very real challenge that the families we support face 24/7. We need you to take on the Friends and Families 24/7 Advent Challenge during December and help us continue to support local children and families.

Story

I'm taking part in Friends and Families 24/7 Advent Challenge!

I will be attempting to run 7km a day for the 24 days of advent. I may even go wild and top things off when an extra effort on Christmas day.

With the target being 168km, I thought that was a fitting fundraising target.

But, "you like running, is this really a challenge", I hear you say. It's true, I did like running, and I did used to do a fair amount of it. However,  after injuring myself at the start of lockdown (perhaps through my own fault of pushing things a bit too far) I've hardly run all year.

So, yes, 7km everyday for 24 days is somewhat daunting. I also have a track record of injuring myself when I set myself silly little challenges, so watch this space - haha

The Charity

The money I raise will help Friends and Families continue to provide vital advice, support and training to parents of children living with disabilities; to host great activities that can be accessed by all members of the family; to give young carers the opportunity to have fun, some time to themselves and to focus on just being children.
