Story

In December our good friend Catrina and her family were hit with the devastating news that their little girl Erin had leukaemia. Erin is only 2 and Ella's best friend,  Ella can't wait for the day her wee friend is well enough to play with her again.  Erin and her family, including her big sister spent Christmas in hospital at Edinburgh's sick kids after being sent there immediately following her diagnosis for an intense 5 weeks of chemotherapy. She continues to receive chemotherapy at home and at Nine wells.

With thanks to Clic Sargent,  they provided the family with nearby accommodation which allowed them to remain together and close to Erin when she was in hospital.  They have continued to support the family during the last few months where while things have been tough for everyone they have been especially difficult for Erin and her family who have been shielding to protect Erin as best as they can. This has included hand delivering a trampoline for the girls to play on whilst they have been stuck at home and it has provided hours of entertainment for them.

To support Clic Sargent Oliver & Ella should have been running in the EMF 1k in May. Due to Covid restrictions this was delayed until September but has now been made into a virtual run. Starting at Newport primary,  Oliver will run along Kirk Road,  over Bridge Street and onto the Nature Trail finishing at the top of Kinbrae Park. This will be more challenging for Oliver as it is not the usual flat race he would have ran nor will he have the big crowds cheering him on but he will be doing this for Erin! Ella will run along the nature trail at the top of the park as this will be a flatter route for her little legs and it is her first 1k.
