Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be climbing Ben Nevis and taking part in the Great North Run the next day.  Please help me in raising funds, any donations are greatly appreciated.

My best friends son Oliver was diagnosed with a rare Kidney disease called Nephrotic Syndrome, in September 2018 ,he goes through so much and has to take alot of medication, which has had an effect on his personality, appearance and his health. Oliver has had numerous relapses and hasnt been able to ween off his  steriod medication. Oliver has had low dose chemo and lots of blood tests up to now and is classed as steriod dependant.

Unfortunately there is no cure for Nephrotic Syndrome that is why it is vital we raise funds to help the incredible people do their research.

Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney condition. In simple terms, his immune system attacks the filtering mechanism of his kidneys which then causes protein and sometimes blood to leak into his urine, leading to swelling all over his body.

Despite his illness he doesnt let it get in the way of his love of skateboarding, scootering and playing football.

NeST are a charity who raise money towards the research to hopefully one day find a cure for this horrible disease.

We appreciate all donations however big or small.

Through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
