University of Plymouth takes on Kilimanjaro 2024!
Campaign by Meningitis Research Foundation (RCN England 1091105,SC037586, Ireland CHY 12030)
Welcome to the Plymouth climbs Kilimanjaro campaign! These incredible students are taking on the challenge of a lifetime all whilst helping in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia.

Story

In 2024, I will be climbing kilimanjaro as the challenge leader of my team. It is a huge challenge that will take lots of time and devotion to training beforehand.

All of the funds raised by this are being donated directly to the Meningitis Research Foundation. It’s a charity very close to my heart - my mother has had meningitis years back and due to expanding research she was able to receive treatment. Unfortunately many others are not as lucky with 1 in 10 cases being fatal. Being a student as well, I’m in a group prone to contracting meningitis and awareness needs to be raised about this! Many just think it’s “freshers flu” or a hangover and fail to receive treatment in time.

The MRF is working with the World Health Organisation and experts with the aim to defeat meningitis and septecemia by 2030. Your donation will help with this and you’ll never know if it will be you or a family member or friend that can benefit by this one day.
