Story
I got back into running a year ago, its my therapy my outlet. I love running by myself to clear my mind and sing away to some tunes. I also run with my dad, my dad is my coach, mentor and therapist! We talk! As you all know I love to talk!
But when it comes to our mental health we don't talk so openly and freely. Especially when it comes Men.
It's OK to not be ok and especially for men. Talking isn't a sign of weakness It's a sign of strength.
Sadly so many men suffer in silence.
Did you know Lincolnshire has a male mental health crisis. Over 75% of Lincolnshire Suicides are Men and 63% of those had struggled with their mental health for a long time.
Funds raised for Lincoln City Foundation go to sustaining the Team talk Project. Team Talk is providing men with a safe space to talk, using the power of conversation to access peer support and gain social connection. Our Team Talk physical activity sessions are reaching males struggling with their mental health, enabling the benefits of being active to enhance their wellbeing.119 men have been supported so far...Together we can make a difference in Lincolnshire.
My Dad and I will be running the Lincoln half in September to raise money and awareness for Team Talk. Please if you have anything to spare donate and let's get men talking!!
Thanks again
